Apparently I am not the only one with complaints about Rio Salado. Terrible school for the working professional. Disorganized syllabus. Haphazard grading. Poor feedback. Unresponsive instructor. I took a Spanish class simply to improve my Spanish and it became a stressful, nightmarish experience. There are plenty of other better options for online education.
So after having all this happen, the head of the Spanish department reached out to me to see how they could make my experience better. She listened to all my concerns -- and then not only positively addressed all of them, offered to let me re-enroll with a new instructor in the next class. The new instructor was very responsive and I was able to successfully complete the class. I am not giving 5 stars because I still think their classes to be more considerate of the full-time professional, parent, active community member -- and how more than 30 minutes a night for schoolwork is asking a lot. It seems like they could come up with some options for this.
