My mother cut her finger sewing last night. It was pretty deep and wouldn't stop bleeding so we went over to get her some stitches. The staff was so friendly, patient with her desire to talk through the procedure to distract herself and just seemed to genuinely care.
It was so nice to have medical people act like humans not busy, annoyed robots. It was also a surprise for Dr.Shin to consider less invasive surgi strips and a splint instead of stitches. Although she did end up with 3 very neat stitches, it's unusual in this "just give them a pill/procedure and move on" environment for doctors to recommend less invasive procedures. They also set her up with a tetanus shot and took X-rays just in case she had nicked the bone.
This was probably the most pleasant and medically through trip to an urgent care I've ever experienced.
