Have been craving some Cajun food for a while so we went to check out Lola's. Seated right away, atmosphere was warm, nice live piano music. Server was friendly and knew the menu well, might have exaggerated the flavors slightly or the kitchen was having an off night. We ordered a garlic bread to start along with a cup each of gumbo and jambalaya, gumbo was tasteless, more of a bean taste, needed hot sauce and seasoning. Jambalaya was nice, has a nice heat level. Bread was dropped off, it was crunchy yet soft and quite nice, however we could not taste any garlic. Turned out it was a table bread and server forgot our garlic bread. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with blackened chicken, was told it was rich and creamy and the chicken would be Cajun spiced. She was right about the creamy sauce, however the super thin sliced chicken was dry and tasteless, had no taste at all to it. Johan had the beef and gravy po-boy, it again was on the bland and dry side. Server did not once check on our meals, not during appetizers or entrees. Will give the place another go sometime.
