When Teavana opened a couple of years ago I decided to give them a try. I've been a tea drinker (loose leaf) for most of my adult life, and it's nice to have a shop around the corner from my house. Previously, I always bought tea from foreign locations, during travels or friends' travels. Or from Lee Lee's the Asian supermarket. I wasn't very sold by their teas, which sound great in name (not so much in price) but are not really tea but mostly flowers and fruits mixed in with a minimal amount of tea. If you like tea for tea, don't get this stuff. If you like the taste of flowers go for it. The 2 teas were beyond fruity/flowery tasting, to the point that I had to dilute them with an incredible amount of water to drink them. But once again last weekend I found myself going there to see if they had teas that were non-fruity/flowery and to find a cool glass teapot. The girl that was helping me was new and couldn't give me all the info I needed regarding their teapots/kettles, so she asked another sour-faced employee to help her. Sour-face was quickly informed that I didn't really care for flowery/fruity teas, and she proceeded to treat me like I had no idea what I was talking about, and when I mentioned that I wanted a glass container with a non-glass top because they usually break, she looked at me like I was crazy. From then on, anything I had to say made her roll her eyes and as soon as she could she turned around and proceeded to ignore me. So now I don't care whether they have non-flowery/fruity teas, because guess what? For half the price I can get teas at Asian stores or when I travel. I'd even rather order from the internet!
