Expect to walk a lot. Bring water and snacks- it's permitted. In early October, I came here with my family and friends who used a Groupon deal to get nearly half off adult ticket prices. My daughter who was under 2, was free. The complimentary map was really helpful in prioritizing places to see. Though we ended up skipping one major area (The Americas) out of five, it still felt like a long walk. Sometime past halfway of our time there, we took a break to hydrate and eat some cookies. Nonetheless, this zoo offers a lot of variety and great views of animals. We were able to see tigers, fish, birds, warthogs, chimpanzees, panda bears, butterflies, mountain lions, among many others.
