Well that was disappointing. I went in to get a seaweed wrap, thinking I could detoxify after Christmas and use up my spa finder gift cards. Well I was not happy, especially after returning home and doing some research. First, they were not prepared for me when I showed up even though there were no other customers and I may have even been their first customer of the day. Second, once I was finally in the room, the owner kept opening the door and bringing in and taking out various things. I'm not sure about most people, but once I'm naked and only covered by a blanket I prefer a bit more privacy and definitely less interruption when I should be relaxing. Now I was willing to overlook all of this up until I got home and did some research and found that I didn't receive the service that I had paid for. They left out the wrap portion of the wrap. I was sparingly covered in the "mud", it was then dried with a hair dryer, before being wiped off with a warm towel. I was then flipped over and had the front done, except for the torso (which was my reasoning for coming home and doing some research, it seemed weird to not do the full body). Again sparingly with the mud, followed by the hair dryer and then wiped clean with a warm damp towel. Then that was followed by a neck and shoulder massage, which was great. However the rest leaved a lot to be desired, especially now that I've reread what the website claims should happen during a seaweed wrap. And especially after reading what a standard seaweed wrap is supposed to be. The mud should have been left on and I should have been wrapped up in a warm thermal blanket and left to sweat, at no point did I sweat. I am so disappointed and wasted a perfectly good Christmas present from my family. I wish that I had done more research upfront so that I could have called out the therapist at the time of treatment, because she definitely did not provide the service that cost a significant amount of money!
