Let me start of by saying I have been taking my animals here since they opened. I Love Dr Lewis but after this last experience i have since moved all of my animals records elsewhere. I have a tiny chihuahua who has had medical issues since day one. Back in January she got very sick. I work for another veterinary hospital with insurance for her so thought it best I bring her there to try and save on costs. I called Grand Montecito to try and explain my situation, that I needed ALL of her records asap as she was very ill. I get the usual generic we will gather them and send them over response. I wait 2 days, nothing. The staff where I work called Grand Montecito explaining again that I need the records asap and they were very rude to her. Finally I got annoyed enough and called myself. I told them my dog has aspirating pneumonia and pancreatitis can you get all of her records over here already? I mean they are MY records. I cant tell you how much I had spent over there on visits for all my animals. Well over 7-8k at least. They finally sent over records thou incomplete but at this point it was whatever. It was the last straw for me. My dog was gravely ill and almost had to be put down. Apparently because I did not bring her there like I normally did they treat you like a piece of crap. I have to say it started going downhill before this when I would book appointments and wait over an HOUR in the room. No one would even bother to come in and let us know what was going on it was horrible. Some vets there are hypochondriacs and like to try and test everything under the moon and push things your animals don't even need. I get doing a thorough exam but telling a client things your pet really doesn't need is ridiculous. I really like Dr. Lewis but the fact that I was treated so poorly I will not be returning with any of my animals.
