It was nice getting out to explore the east side. I was on a limited budget of $7 in cash walking in to the store. I was looking for olives and found them in the produce area. The olives were self-serve and saltier than I liked, but cheaper than other stores. It's a small market but cozy. Prices seemed a bit higher than other big name grocers, but there were sales that seemed to make it a good place to get the basics. The produce availability was impressive and competitively priced. The availability of cara cara oranges and reasonably priced pomegranates (2 for $1.50 on sale-a good deal, I usually find them for $1.99+each) shows me that they're not just a hum drum kinda place. I did browse the bakery and was asked if I needed any help. I couldn't see a price tag on the lemon bars as it was turned to the side. $2.75 a square bar! I didn't want to risk going over budget so I passed. After checking out though, I noticed some people were paying with credit/debit cards. But then again, I did see an older gentleman using the atm. Perhaps the cash-only is no more? I'd have to go back or maybe call to double check.
