I was in want of some baked goods to bring with me to a friend's house and knew I would be passing by downtown Madison, Ind. The Sweeter Life helped me not show up empty handed. This bakery seems to particularly excel at cupcakes. Their cases had roughly 10 flavors to choose from. I got the half dozen mix, opting for Oreo, red velvet, peanut butter cup, butter pecan, pumpkin and vanilla. The icing was piled high, decadent and the cake was moist. I got to try the peanut butter cup and Oreo flavors myself. These were pretty steep in price, at $14 for the six. But if artisan cupcakes are what you're craving, this shop definitely stacks up. I do wish The Sweeter Life had some more baked goods to choose from. It had a couple of cookies and muffins. I stopped by later in the day so they may have been sold out. The clerk was quick and friendly. The Sweeter Life put a smile on my face as a bakery should.
