I LOVE this place. Erin is also the owner of Glitter & Grit in Lawrenceville, which is also amazing, but only bridal. Luna is bridal and occasion, so there's something for everyone. First off, her storefront is beautiful. Big, building-long windows filled with beautiful dresses. Then you walk in through the gigantic doors, and you're greeted with a huge moon, and a smile and a hello. The store is amazing. Bridal to the left, occasion to the right. Both sections with plush, sapphire blue sofas. The vibe is vintage industrial, with the space being cool and linear, with touches of cozy.
What I like about Erin is that she doesn't feel the need to pack her stores full to the brim with every option of everything. She shops in small batches to constantly have new and changing merchandise. It's awesome to know that while what you buy isn't one of a kind, you still will be one of the few wearing it in the Pittsburgh area. "Yay! I have something unique AND I didn't break the bank!"
The experience of shopping in Luna is super low maintenance. Erin asks if you want help shopping, if you'd like her to start a dressing room, if you need help getting dressed, and either will leave you alone, or will follow you around like a puppy. Her customer service is awesome. And really, it's awesome to be able to have a zipper pulled up all the way for you.
I ended up getting a dress by Dress the Population for New Years. It's gorgeous. Definitely something you couldn't get at Macy's. Unfortunately, I had it altered at Alterations Express (see my awful review of them) and it now needs to be fixed to be brought back into its original perfect glory, but I wore it, and got A TON of compliments.
Definitely go to Luna. Erin will treat you well, and you'll have an experience that will stay with you. I cannot day enough good things.
