I was skeptical of a week-long class being able to prepare me for a certification exam, but I took a chance and took the class. From the initial contacts via email through the follow-ups after the class completed, the Project Management Academy and our instructor, Gregg Richie, were absolutely top notch.
The class... Gregg took us through a mountain of information quickly and in a way that made sense. He was the perfect mix of funny and knowledgeable. I am still in awe of how intimately he knew the information he was presenting. When taking my exam, I was able to easily recall his examples to concepts and I am confident he is a big part of why I passed my exam on the first try.
The Project Management Academy (PMA)... Good instructors like Gregg are key, but PMA offers so much more beyond the class. With your tuition fee for the class, you also have access to materials on their web site. Question and Answer slides with explanations of the answers. Timed mock exams. Video tutorials of each section of the PMBOK. They even offer weekly online tutorial sessions with instructors. The class is a bargain for everything you get!
Would I recommend PMA to friends and coworkers? Yes yes YES! Especially if they can get Gregg as an instructor.
