This place is not far from my house and Monday - Thursday they offer $1 bowling. I would rate this place as a 2.5, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt based off of the 2 things I listed above.
I bowl in a local league at a much nicer alley. (I won't mention any names, that wouldn't be fair) This is a small place with a large bar and cheap drink specials (another reason for the extra 1/2 star). While I was there, they had $.75 drafts and were giving away prizes (cash even?) during MNF.
There seemed to be a few open lanes, but somehow we got stuck right next to some very seedy and drunk guys who were hogging both lanes and were not happy about having to share. I am not sure why they couldn't have put us on an empty lane. Oh well. We only bowled 2 games and then left. Considering the games were only $1 each, I think $2.50 for shoe rental seems a little high. But it was $6.50 total for 2 people (I have my own shoes), so that really can't be beat.
Just a little divey local place with late night bowling. A good place to go, drink cheap and bowl cheap.
