My coworker had been telling me about this place for months since we work about a block away, but I never got the chance to visit until this past week. O M G what have I been missing!? This bakery is authentically German and sells some amazingly delicious pastries. I seriously stopped caring about how many calories I was eating and ordered a strudel and danish just as my afternoon snack, and that was before even taking a bite! If the appearance was appetizing, the actual taste was out of this world. I brought an apple strudel home to my wife and now she can't wait to visit there in person.
In addition to pastries, Old Heidelberg also carries sausages, pickles, an assortment of chocolates/candies and German newspapers (!!! Which I love as I'm trying to learn German). Stop by, speak with the friendly owners and get something awesome to eat!
