Just heard of the new hot dog place opened by the chef of Salt. It's amazing that this unassuming little place stuck behind a Target in East Liberty has managed to receive so much attention and business. This Sousa guy must be good... Living at the East Liberty side of Shadyside, I love all the development going on in the Penn Circle area. Anyhow, for not really liking hot dogs at all, I am definitely a fan of this place. We got the chili cheese dog, the one with egg salad, and the duck fat fries. I liked the egg salad dog better, but both were pretty good. I love it when the skin snaps open when you bite into it - you know they're quality dogs (or as quality as can be) made with real casings. And the fries were crispy, salty, and perfect. We will definitely be back. I want to try the Hawaiian dog and the one with kim chi.
