In the UK visiting family, my brother took us to Whitby and the Magpie. Everybody in the north of England seems to know this place and for good reason! Family had cod and chips, i had scampi and chips (childhood memories!) and it was all fantastic! The fish was so fresh tasting that my kids' American palates inhaled it. You can never go wrong with scampi anyway. The place itself was really nice - cosy and warm. I understand why everyone knows this place and the next time i'm in Whitby i will definitely go again.
