I filled out an appraisal appointment request online and was contacted by an appt setter from J. Levine a couple weeks later. I explained I had antique furniture items and wondered if they would be interested in such. I was told yes, please bring them in and we will appraise and then store them until an appropriate sale time. I was given an appointment for several weeks away during midday.
Arrived at the location with my items and met with an "appraiser" who quickly told me antique furniture does not fit their needs, the market is soft and they would not have any interest in these items. She proceeded to tell me they would be happy to look at anything else I might have to offer and would be happy to come to my home to take a look. She did not provide any appraisal of the furniture items I brought in. How very disappointing. This was a huge waste of time and effort, especially because I took time off work for this needless appointment.
I expect my experience was not unique and recommend caution to others considering the same.
