STAY AWAY! DO NOT RENT HERE!!
I don't even know where to begin, if I could give negative stars, I would. First and foremost, the management here is far from even decent. They are extremely rude, and DO NOT CARE about the tenants. Myself, my parents, and four of my friends all rent here. That is six units total. All of us are in the process of either moving out or breaking our leases.
1. First, you have ONE day of the month to pay rent. The 1st. You must pay and have it clear your bank on the first. If it clears on the 2nd, you have a $75 late fee, and then $10 ever day there after. I logged into the system and made my payment on the 1st and it cleared my bank on the second, due to the first being a Sunday. I now have a late fee. Most complexes allow you to pay your rent up to the 3rd. I have never paid rent late and have a receipt showing it began pending my bank account on the first. They don't care. I'm still being charged. I hate to see what would happen if someone actually needed money and couldn't pay their rent until the second or third.
2. If you have a maintenance issue. Expect at least 2-3 weeks before the issue is addressed and then at least another week before it is fixed. I have had hundreds of dollars comped off my rent due to maint. issues not being resolved and one of my daughters being hurt because the "wood" floors lifting and screws being exposed. I informed the office that I would be out of town for my wedding for one week and they promised they would have it done before I got back in order for my children to be safe. My nanny came to clean the house the day before I came home, to find that the floors had not been done. The offices response? The office attendant I spoke to "forgot to submit the work order". That was only the first time I received $300 off my rent.
3. The "upgraded" apartment includes painted cabinets, painted counters, and laminate wood floors. They painted over our light and cable sockets. This is lazy. They couldn't even tape the socket. I had to pay the cable company to install a new socket due to them painting the sockets and the office told me cosmetic issues were my problem.
4. There is a young woman who works in the office who dresses in VERY inappropriate clothing. One day it's a deep v-neck blouse where her chest is spilling out, the next days it's a dress where you can see her butt checks. It's ridiculous. I don't think everyone needs to enforce an extremely office professional dress code, but at least cover yourself when you have renters and their children coming inside. This same lady told me I needed to file a complaint with UPS for leaving a package at the office, when they do not accept tenant packages. They refuse all packages, so tenants have to go to the post office or a UPS location to pick up packages. I have NEVER lived in an apartment where they will not accept packages. How lazy can you be?
5. I pay $793 for my rent, it is an upgraded apartment that is normally $1000 a month, but they had the apartment incorrectly listed online when I came to rent, so they had to honor it. I thought I was getting a sweet deal on a nice apartment, because the model was nice and they put on a very fake front to new renters. What do I pay for rent? At least $930 a month after "Miscellaneous fees" are assessed every month. They won't even tell me what the fees are.
6. The police are always here. Since I have moved in, two apartments have been raised for drug dealing and someone was killed here on Christmas Day. Not an accidental death, a homicide. I was told the apartment complex had no safety issues before I moved in, and there were no reviews to say otherwise, so I trusted them. I can not say that I want my two daughters living here.
I could continue my list of complaints forever, but bottom line is, you can find a better apartment with nicer staff, and higher safety standards for the same price. DO NOT MOVE HERE!! It may seem convenient because it is right off the freeway and close to everything, but it's not worth the hassle and issues that come with renting here. There is an apartment complex across the street that is better all around and one on Gilbert and Guadalupe called Park Meadow apartments, I promise if you go there, you will not regret it. I am in he process of breaking my lease to get out of this place. Living here is hell, and not a good place for anyone to live. Save yourself the trouble, the possibility of safety issues, and a lot of money, and find another complex!
