Pregame at a bar with good Yelp/BlogTO reviews or get your stash from the LCBO to avoid disappointment. Why would you expect the greatest cocktail of a lifetime in a club?! It just doesn't make sense. Don't be a noob!
Now let's get to everyone's favourite part! The music! Shitty throwbacks and the tackiest top 40 hits every basic club plays (50 cent - in da club, beyonce - crazy in love). Super tacky and basic. Rebel + Union usually have a more up-to-date music selection and tasteful throwbacks. Every time I've been, they've played this revolting shit. It's alright when you're drunk as hell but if you're completely sober..probably not the best situation..I feel sorry for your ears.
It's not as pretentious as some of the clubs on King St. but don't dress like a bum and expect chicks to acknowledge you booboo. The men and women make some effort with their fashion. Not creative/highly fashionable folks just preppy/standard looks. Everyone usually stays within their groups so not super friendly but that can also depend on the night. Pretty equal ratio of men and women. Lots of couples so could be difficult to spot the real single people. If you don't like pushy crowds + are ocd about personal space then don't bother going. People will either dance/knock into you left right and center. Bottle-service/private booths are ok but nothing special. Staff were pretty friendly, attentive and can make your standard cocktail.
It's a good party place for birthdays. Asian night and Saturday nights are where it's at. The decor is pretty plain + basic/not-memorable..lol I'll leave that up to your imagination.
Don't go in with too many expectations. It's a club at the end of the day. Just enjoy your time there and have fun! They also do freebies at the end of the night. Gave out water and pizza.
