When we decided to get a new dog (after losing our beloved pup the previous year) our family agreed that we would like to help a homeless pet in a shelter. After hearing good things in the community about Friends For Life, and after looking at the cute dogs on their website, we decided to visit them. The staff was friendly and helpful, and gave us the best advice based on our family's needs. We saw a lot of wonderful dogs, but fell absolutely in love with one in particular. He was a puppy found on the street (about 9 months old, they guessed). We don't know his breed but it's easy to tell he's at least half bloodhound. Before you knew it, we were all piling into my SUV with our new family member. I have to say that Duke is absolutely a gem. He is one of those dogs that you see and say, "wow, what a cool dog!" He's smart as a whip and super well-behaved too. We know that we were very lucky in finding him, and were so happy we were able to give him a home. If you are thinking about getting a new pet, please, please go to FFL. You won't regret it.
