I stopped in to look at this shop and it looked good at first glance so I went in for a mani/pedi. I wanted shellac in a light purple and I selected my colour from the sample tree. The lady went to find it but came back and told me they didn't have that one. She showed me the selection and they only had about 25 bottles- less than half of the colours on the tree. Disappointing, but I had backup colour choices. After 4 choices were not available the 5th one was the winner.
I sit down and she starts filing my nails. After a few minutes I looked around and really noticed the details of the shop. It's actually very dirty. Every table is covered in dust and there are tools and random objects strewn everywhere. I wanted to walk out at that moment but my nails were filed already.
She did a good job of the manicure. The UV light unit used to set the shellac was also very disgusting and I tried my best not to touch it. It was covered in smears inside and out. I looked over at the other tables and they were all the same.
Proceeded to the pedicure chair and this area looked better. There was a small iron stand against the wall covered in dust with just a few random objects on it.
The shop was busy with customers and at least 4 staff were working. I'm surprised it was busy considering how dirty it was. I've been in much cleaner shops that were not so busy.
I won't be going back. I'm crossing my fingers I don't get an infection. My nails do look nice so that's why I gave them two stars instead of one.
