Just beyond the 90 day warranty, the icemaker failed and a leak developed underneath the refrigerator.
Repairman on the way, will update with repair costs.
UPDATE 1/19/2018: Just contacted by Smart Buy, they will send someone out tomorrow to take a look at it... I do appreciate that they reached out.
UPDATE 1/20/2018: Repairman came out and determined the icemaker is malfunctioning and will have to order the part on Monday.
UPDATE 1/24/2018: I was contacted this morning with news that the part arrived, and asked when we could accommodate the repair. Today was a day off, so I mentioned I was available all day. The repairman arrived ~30 minutes later.
Upon removing the icemaker, he discovered the water inlet tube heater had malfunctioned (aluminum tube with a heating element) and was blocked with a solid piece of ice throughout. He then replaced the inlet tube and icemaker assembly; in less than 20 minutes, mission accomplished.
Still waiting for the sweet sound of ice dropping into the bucket. Cheers to SBAO! Their service recovery effort was a great surprise and saved our family lot of money. Thanks!
