As a Real Estate agent and investor. I recommend to my clients and buyers to always purchase a home warranty on a resale home even if everything is new. I have a great deal of experience working with many different home warranty providers. So when I tried to assist my 75 yr old mother who had gotten this one on her own, I was shocked at how difficult it was to get anything done with this company. It took 5 days luckily the contract they contacted said it would be an additional 4 days from then to get the issue resolved and had to get management on the phone to get a resolution. AHG Home Warranty company tried to lay blame on my 75 yr old mother as to why it couldn't get done sooner. Pointed to the contract and stated weekends and holidays you need to give them 48hrs to return calls... WHAT?? So If my 75yr old mother has an A/C unit go out in 110 degree weather you have no emergency service that will call you back sooner than 48hrs? The answer is NO! That was an example and not the actual issue. Ours was that the pool pump went out and anyone that has a pool knows how quickly algae on your pool can start and my mother was in another state. So the company finally came out fixed the broken pump noticed there was an additional leak, but since that wasn't mentioned, "the pump wasn't working, no water circulation" by the home warranty company they were not authorized to fix it nor would they call the home warranty company to notify them that it too needed to be repaired. Instead told us we would need to file another claim pay another $100 dollars to fix the pipe next to the pump which was probably the reason it went out to begin with. This was so bad from start to finish with AHG Home Warranty and the contractor they sent out. To the contractors credit they were very nice, but did not go the extra mile to assist the client. All I have to say is this company needs a complete revamp of their customer service & management personnel. So unhappy, we are moving our home warranty to American Home Shield. The 3 top warranty providers in my opinion are American Home Shield, Old Republic and First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation. Hope this helps someone.
