Came in at 5 PM on a weekday wearing a suit and looking to score a burger, because the Wandering Tortoise doesn't have a kitchen and I was hungry. A derisive "we have a suit in the house" came from the guy behind the bar, so I flipped him off and got a laugh. Nuf said about the vibe here.
$3 and five minutes later, I have a bun with a hamburger patty in the middle on a paper plate. No frills, no garnishes, no lettuce, tomato or onion. Patty + Bun = Chopper John burger. It did come with bottles of ketchup and mustard. A bona fide Ron Swanson burger. It was delicious.
I may come back for dollar shots and drunk food if I'm ever in the area. Sometimes a dive is exactly what a person needs, and this is real deal divey.
