I've worked with Matthew Shapiro from the Brel Team twice now--once to lease the location of our store (Mellah Moroccan Rugs at 1090 College St.), and most recently, we purchased a mixed-use building through Matt on Dupont St. There were so many times the deal could've fallen apart, but we kept it together and closed last week because of his tenacity and his unwillingness to let the deal die. He even negotiated to get the vendor to pay for half of the environmental assessment, which is pretty much unheard of. Throughout it all he was easy to get in touch with, friendly, and had his shit together. We also share a love of very old and kinda crappy German luxury cars.
