Broken Spoke is one of my favorite places in Charlotte, and I don't even drink whisky. This is the perfect place to go If you're looking for a low key date night, or to just hang out and feel classy. The environment is very relaxing and open, with high ceilings and a number of comfy chairs to sit in. The upstairs is my favorite part of the place (when it's not booked for an event) as it has a number of cozy seating sections ideal for a group of 6-8. My boyfriend is a whisky drinker and loves the Broken Spoke drink - I think the huge ice cube looks cool. The charcuterie board is amazing and full of stuff, so you definitely get your money's worth. My go-to drink is usually the grapefruit mule, although I believe they just changed the recipe and it's not as good as it used to be, but that could've been a one off, and it was still really good. Basically, if you're looking for something off the beaten path of the regular uptown/south end scene, this is definitely a cool place to check out!
