I've never posted to Yelp before, but felt it's time to do so and post about my recent experience at the Spa there.... The Royal Palms hotel is wonderful, but the Alvadora Spa at the hotel is horrible, in my recent experience! I really wouldn't rate this a 1, but there isn't a lower number. There are only 2 toilets in the women's locker area, and 2 showers...so I had to wait in line each time I needed either. And the staff uses the toilets too! Never did see anyone cleaning the showers or the toilets, which by the way, someone wasn't flushing! And the 'quiet' area was used by staff as a short cut to pass through to the outside courtyard...one staff person had a conversation with the door open, and it was a cold AZ winter day! And then, I had to climb 2 flights of stairs to get to my massage room! And, I'm in my 2nd day now of a pain in my neck from that massage. I was given a 1/2 off TravelZoo voucher for this spa day, so I'm glad I didn't pay for it...other than $30 for the tip. But the worst is, I ordered a pina colada, and the pool man automatically added 20% tip to the drink...making it a $15.00 pina colada (in a plastic throw away bar cup)! I'll never go back, won't recommend this spa and will stick with Camelback (where the pina coladas are perfect!), Sanctuary, Phoenician and Montelucia...which all 4 are beyond wonderful. Forget the spa at the Royal Palms, but stay at the hotel and eat at the restaurant!
