I'm reviewing this as an owner of a property that this company has "managed" for me for some time now. This has to be the dumbest collection of people under one roof that I have ever seen. Why do I say this? Well, here's what happened. Tenants in the property have someone knock on their door, "We see that this home is in foreclosure. Do you want to sell it?" Tenant freaks out and calls Park Ave. Park Ave, per what they told me, "looks in the MLS system", and sure enough, sees home marked as foreclosed. They promptly refund all of tenants security deposits and rent for that month. I check my portal later in the month when I hadn't received my rent, and notice the large payment TO the tenants, so I freak out and try to call Park Ave.
Basically, they dodged my calls for two days until I finally had to use the phone tree to get some woman in their Chicago office and threaten legal action unless they returned my call. Turns out someone in the county property records dept. had made a mistake and entered my plat # on someone else's foreclosure filing. Thing is, Park Ave did all this, refunded the tenants money, etc, WITHOUT EVER CALLING ME. ONE PHONE call, to ME, their customer, could have cleared all of this up, but in their small minds they had decided that I no longer owned the property, so they just washed their hands of the situation, and, like they told me "usually in these situations the owner is out of the loop.". Yes, but, I had just talked to you guys less than a month ago, and here's the email correspondence to prove it. From them: "Ya, I kind of winced when I saw that."
Luckily for me the tenant didn't destroy my home. Also, lucky for me that I didn't have to have the rent in a timely fashion because it took the tenants 3 months to catch up. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these people. "Do the right thing for the customer" does not seem to be a tenet of theirs.
