Still searching....I really tried to love this place during a 10 class package. The best shape (physically and spiritually) that I have ever been in was when I practiced Bikram yoga very regularly in CA; and I would LOVE to do it again. This is evidently the only place in Charlotte that actually does something like a Bikram sequence (most of the classes I attended at Yoga Oasis were a 60 minute variance with some poses I did not like called water sequence). The instructors were average (no personal attention or verbal tips on the poses); but very nice. Since there is no other non-vinyasa practices here (like Bikram) that are not based around shoulder based Vinyasa flows (i.e., down-dog and handstands), I would have probably stuck with this studio but I just can NOT get away from the mildew/fungal smell that pervades the practice space. I REALLY tried to get past it; but it is just too distracting and disturbing - did not leave me feeling healthier. If the owners or managers ever choose to replace the carpet with a more normal yoga floor I will be back. And if anyone is aware of another instructor or studio who does a true bikram hot yoga sequence (the same 26 poses over 90 minutes) in the area please let me know!
