Nine reviews in 3 weeks! I think this urge to shower the love on Churned is because of the love Cindy obviously showers on her ice cream. Right on the edge of Lincoln park, fronted by benches and tables under a huge, cool, shady tree, Churned was the perfect end to an afternoon saunter in Tremont.
I tried almost every single flavor in that freezer, no joke, and Cindy let me: a huge smile on her face every time I collapsed in near hysteria (in the Victorian sense of the word). Yes, even with the Rosemary Garlic ice cream. Oomph!!!
I ended up with the Maple Bacon Ice Cream, and topped it off with the Cocoa Puff and Cereal Milk Ice Cream, which Cindy finished with a smattering of cocoa puffs. My friend got the Maple Bacon as well, but had his on top of Vanilla, which meant that HIS ice cream was topped with crunchy bits of BACON.
The texture of the ice cream is perfect. Creamy, but not too heavy, a blessing in this current heat wave.
We sat contentedly under that tree, contemplating whether or not a hammock could be strung from here to over there, when..wait, what is this in my...wha... FRENCH TOAST??? Yeah.
