There are many reviews on here describing the negative experience with the owner/customer service. They are right. And I wish I read them before I came to the store. My experience was terrible and I don't wish to patronize this store ever again. I was filling 7 small bags with candy. The lady let me put my finished ones on the counter while I filled the rest. She said nothing during the entire time I was filling the bags. I didn't realize she had a problem with me until I got to the counter to pay. She clumped 3 bags and used 1 twist tie to tie them all together. Then the remaining 4 bags got clumped and tied with 1 twist tie. I thought this was a really strange way to package the bags.. So I'm supposed to give someone an open bag of candy? I asked her, "can they be tied individually?" And she looked at me with a disgusted face and said "No." I was confused why she was being so rude to me as if I did something to offend her. I soon realized she clumped the bags together with 2 twist ties out of spite. She proceeded to complain how too many customers come in trying to make multiple bags as favors for a party. I told her "I'm not having a party..these are small treats for our leasing office workers." Apart from the fact that she just accused me based on an assumption, and then didn't apologize when I clarified to her, she just kept going on and on in her attempt to make me feel guilty. She said they don't charge customers for the plastic bags but it's an added cost to them and if people keep doing "this" (pointing at my 7 small bags), then they would run out of business. So basically what I'm hearing (as I'm paying for the candy), is that I'm bad business for her. I told her there's no way for any customers to know that there's a limit on how many bags we can fill. There are no signs nor did she alert us to this when we walked into the store, let alone give us any form of welcome. She just kept shaking her head and saying, "whatever, it's fine" (when clearly, she was not fine with it). If I had known, obviously I'd be happy to pay extra or follow whatever rules they have. I asked if they had other containers available since there seemed to be only two options: a mini bag the size of my hand and another bag that is just slightly bigger. She rolled her eyes at me and said, "well you could have used the bigger bag for all the candy." No.. I'm not going to make 6 people all reach into 1 small bag of candy to share. By the way, I come from a family with 6 children. I can only imagine how she would treat a family with large numbers of children. I could tell she was so caught up in her bitterness that it prevented her from owning her responsibility of respecting customers. The store itself is a wonderland for children (and adults), but the owner's treatment made me think of the grinch who stole christmas. It's supposed to be a happy place but the owner sucks out all the joy. There are so many reviews here expressing the same. I hope she takes the feedback to heart. Because I really don't think it'll be "customers taking too many plastic treat bags and twist ties" that will be the reason for declining business.
