I ordered the Burnt Almond Torte for my wedding. I am not going to describe it because I feel like its reputation preceeds it. I know this sounds sacreligious but I am not a "cake" person in general; however, I really do like the BAT. I recently moved to Pittsburgh (Shadyside, to be exact) and this mecca of deliciousness which I had heard about is in walking distance from my house so I knew I'd try it sooner or later. I thought it'd be the perfect dessert to order for my wedding, as I wanted to give all of my out of town guests a taste of a famous Pittsburgh sweet and this fit the bill perfectly. Everyone loved it, especially my mother in law who has actually scoured the internet for a couple of "copycat" BAT recipes so she can make them herself (she lives in another state). I have not tried anything else from Prantl's but am eager to go back. Five stars is for the fact that not only was the burnt almond torte delicious, but also because I notice that this place is always crowded. I like seeing the little guy succeed.
