Have been following them on IG and all of their cakes look wonderful! Thought about having them make my son's graduation cake so I decided to venture on over and try a piece before I have them make a whole cake for me. They are a small bakery in a shopping center. I walked in and took a look at the different types of cake. Plenty to choose from. However, I immediately noticed that their cakes looked a bit dry. I actually thought the cakes were angel food cake from first glance. I really wanted to turn and walk out, but against my better judgement, I decided to order a piece of the banana pudding cake. The cake definitely tasted like banana pudding and had real bananas but the cake itself lacked flavor and was extremely dry. Without the pudding and bananas the cake would have been in trouble. This made me sad because I really wanted to like this place and give them my business. I am a food connoisseur and know good food/desserts when I see and eat them. I don't understand just why oh why people make dry cakes then commences to sell them to the public. Ugh! Guess I will continue to drive to Gastonia for a decent piece of cake! Sorry BW.
