Man, Barouf looks spiffy now. Back in the day when I used to work up the street at Valet d'Coeur and it was known as a frenchie (from France) hangout, we'd go in and have beers and it was no big thang but now they've totally renovated and the place looks like a ski lodge, with a massive polished wood décor and a huge-ass high ceiling.
They loose a point because the waiter was kinda snippy when my friend didn't really know what she wanted but then they got a point when I got a very, very nice gin and a tonic. And in the end, my friend's white velvet was spot on and it made me regret my g&t but then who can regret a g&t so all was good in the world.
Also: free pretzels. can't beat that.
