I'm in town from out of state and have practiced around the country. A friend recommended Cleveland Yoga. I attended 3 classes by 3 different teachers at the Beachwood studio. The pluses: 1. the facility is clean and well-kept 2. the online booking system is easy to use 3. you get a good sweat 4. 2 of the 3 gave adjustments Critiques: 1. The studio is located in the most awkward spot I've seen. Despite having a map on the website, it's quite confusing for first timers. 2. The front desk staff looks less than enthused to be there. I didn't even get a welcome the first two times I showed up. This includes the instructors too. 3. It was difficult to get a sense of the teachers' level of knowledge because the cues were lacking detail and the sequencing was rough. A couple of the classes jumped into complex poses before they warmed up the class. 4. The music is LOUD! To compensate, each teacher sounded like they were yelling to a group of elderly people in a geriatric home. Overall, this is a western style studio with well intended instructors. The focus seems to be on giving a good workout more so than teaching mind-body connection. If all you want is a good sweat, then this is the place for you. If you're looking for more, then you may want to go somewhere else.
