Having been in ella & elliot before I went today to look at a few different items. I was doing some research on carseats. Neither of the young women on the floor knew how to operate the carseat I was enquiring about. The first woman seemed nonplused by the fact that she didn't know how to release the set from the base and was unwilling to get help from anyone or even offer an apology. The other woman, whose attention I had to get, at least asked for assistance from the woman upstairs in the office and also explained to me that she and her coworker were new on the job. The woman upstairs told her how to unlatch the seat (without actually coming downstairs) as opposed to taking this opportunity to teach a new employee the ins and outs of a very important safety product. The young woman was unable to answer several other questions I had about the car seat. By NO means is this a complaint about the two women on the floor, but it is a complaint of poor management and scheduling. If you run a boutique business that sells items that people very likely know little about there shoud always be someone on the floor who can answer questions with confidence. Lack of product knowledge is acceptable in some retail situations, but in an instance where you are selling products relating to the safety of an infant (possibly life and death situations) questions should be able to be answered.
