Today was my daughter-in-law's birthday. She is from California where Fatburger originated so we thought we'd give it a try after all the positive reviews. What a disappointment! Firstly, walking in,although it was a Monday at 4pm,there were no people inside which was surprising. The restaurant itself is like a" hole in the wall." There is no atmosphere at all. I'd rather eat at Wendy's or McDonald's. There is one table at the back and a few at the front. Then there is a long narrow hallway with single counter type chairs where you face the wall if you eat alone, very unappealing. The table area where we sat at the front was so cold. I asked the server if she could put up the heat a bit but she said it was as high as it could go.Also, she said the cold is from the type of building it is.Huh? The food itself is average. The hamburgers are pretty average, and my relative said that most of the lettuce in her bun was brown & soggy and removed it.The fries were frozen, and what you would find at any fast food place, nothing special. There is no comparison to Fatburger in the U.S. The prices are absolutely exorbitant for what you get! We were four people;one baby burger for $5.99 no fries/drink included, two combos for $11.49 each, and one original burger for $6.99 with fries/drink extra. Tax on all these burgers was extra. To top all this off,the pop machine didn't work so we couldn't have soda. Instead we were given water bottles. We should have been given free water bottles and have the soft drink prices credited. What decent restaurant doesn't check to see if their equipment is working properly. And where is the customer service? No soda to be had with our meal? After we received the bill of close to $50,I felt we were all "taken" for a ride. To spend this amount of hard earned money by pretending this restaurant is so gourmet/special when all it really is,is fast food,is ludicrous to me. Your food is served on a small black plastic throw away container. If you want a pleasant dining experience even in a fast food place, with value for your dollar, you're better off going to Timmy's,Wendy's or even McDonald's.If you want an average hamburger, not great atmosphere, where everything is a la cart and a very overpriced meal, then try Fatburger. I,nor my family will be back there very soon.
