I was just there yesterday picking up some tortillas. I figured I'd probably come away with some other stuff as I've been told they have great prices, but as soon as I was there I remembered why I don't frequent Food Citys. I just don't like the atmosphere so much. It may have had something to do with the time of day that I went (4pm-ish) or maybe that the music was too loud or just that their prices on certain items is cheaper at a super Walmart. I did, however, leave with the tortillas I intended to get. In fact, more than I meant to buy! But, that's the only thing I got. I do have to mention that the cashier was very friendly. The man ahead of me had a conversation with her in Spanish and as soon as he left, she was just as friendly with me in English (not that I couldn't speak to her in either, but hey). She even waited as the elderly man gathered his things and started to walk away before helping me, probably so as not to make him feel rushed. I've experienced that at other places where the cashier is just trying to move the line along and you don't have time to put your change or receipt away, so I thought that was really nice of her.
