came here for a special dinner this past Saturday. I made reservations a few days in advance for a table for two at 7pm in front of the fountains.
The day of , i came in two hours earlier before going to the spa to show my noir card as the person who took my reservation suggested to ensure the fountain view. They said no guarantees but they will try..
At 7 we came in and had to wait an additional 20 minutes. No big deal.
Our waiter was a bit awkward. He seemed to be in character of an over anxious server in a semi mocking way. Almost like Geoffrey from fresh prince of bel air. I also noticed he didnt speak like that to any of the other tables he served, his tone of voice and personality completely changed. But he remained in this character for our table. When he approached us he didn't introduce himself or ask how we were. Just asked if we were ready to order drinks from out of nowhere.
We ordered the aged rib eye, short ribs, shrimp cocktail , and truffle mashed potatoes.
The short ribs were so soft and tender. It was probably the stand out if the dishes we ordered. The shrimp cocktail came with four shrimps that were basically the size of baby lobsters i felt. Very meaty and enjoyable.
The aged rib eye was good but left me wanting for a bit more. When i bit into it i couldnt help but think this was a somewhat mediocre steak. The three sauces it came with were fun, but i was slightly disappointed in the steak itself.
The truffle mashed potatoes were good but very whipped, borderline runny; maybe more than what I'm used to. But the truffle flavor was definitely there.
We sat smack in the front of the fountains in the inside of the restaurant. During winter months it can be a bit cold. All in all im glad i tried this place out. However , i think one time is enough for me.
