We would highly recommend the "Comedy on Deck Day Tour" to the Grand Canyon. Especially if this your first time to see one of our world's greatest wonders. Prepare yourself for a rather long day, so don't go there after an all-nighter in the casinos. We made this our first activity in Vegas, to ensure we would be fresh for the long day. Our tour guide Jodi made our trip truly enjoyable. She was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and efficient. When it came to instructions on each stop and what we would be doing, she proved to be a terrific task-master and kept up on schedule with ample time for sight-seeing and photo-taking. While the name "Comedy on Deck Day Tours" may imply there is a comedian douibling as a tour guide, that is not the case. Although Jodi is witty and funny, she is not giving a stand-up (or bus ride comedy routine).
We booked the tour that included breakfast and lunch for an additional $20 and it was overall worth it. Breakfast was a a roadside diner, where our orders were called-in in advance. When we arrived and seated, our meals were served almost immediately. They were hot and fairly generous, so we were satisfied. The lunch was a cafeteria style serving of shredded beef sandwiches, veggies and a beverage. Don't expect much by way of presentation. It reminded me of a school cafeteria, and people from all of the tour buses kept coming in droves to be hustled through the lines. Fortunately, the food was decent, but the day we were there, it was probably 40-50 degrees, so our food got cold real fast.
Again, the tour offered stunning views of the Grand Canyon's west rim, and that was the main point. So for first-timers like ourselves, you can't go wrong.
