Manic has great tasting beans. I've tried some other boutique cafes that serve up great coffee because it's a passion of the proprietors, but not all of them have great tasting beans. Just because they pull a great and beautiful shot of espresso, it doesn't mean you like the flavour of the bean. Broadview Espresso is an example of the owner pulling great shots, but his bean selection isn't nice, to me.
Manic sells great whole bean coffees that are delicious espresso and they got the Clover going which was an amazing smooth cup of BLACK coffee.
This place tops it out. Check it out... Also, if you really like Mocha's, there's is one of the best I've had.
REVISED my rating to 4 stars - inconsistent espresso shots, but still best place to get a shot in Toronto - in my opinion.
