Nostalgic, I feel like I stepped foot into my grandmother's pantry and kitchen where she had the finest quality ingredients to concoct my weekend lunches. This first visit to Cured and Whey struck me by surprise. After all the raving reviews I bookmarked it for a slow work day afternoon to come try. The store sells goods for take home along with finest deli meats and cheeses. They offer a soup of the day, a few salads and both hot and cold sandwiches. The Turkey sandwich was made with freshly baked foccacia, generous layers of pan roasted turkey, creamy havarti cheese, crisp tomato and lettuce, and pickles. Because I was equally interested in being healthy, I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad with organic power greens, hazelnuts and fresh goat chevre - oh my goodness!!! Cured and Whey (clever name), just kicked off a new lunch addiction. Thank you! Many happy returns! Which, reminds me - pick up their loyalty punch card, you'll be needing it.
