We attended the Leon Russell concert and the crowd was very mature with a lot of old hippies. The security staff was a crew of over zealous ruffians. The men working the door were doing everything short of strip and cavity searching the male fans. They took pocket knives and paraphernalia. They did a cursory seach of my purse. I saw this same artist at this venue 2 or 3 years ago and was not subjected to this abuse of power by the security staff. This is definitely not a crowd where you have fights and dangerous behaviour. You and I can surmise that these bullies enjoyed their nightly haul of plunder. My date and I will not be attending any more shows at the Altar Bar. Three months ago we saw a concert at Mr. Smalls Theatre where the audience also was older and experienced nothing like the Altar Bar's paid bullies.
