This motel is a living horror movie. I really wish I was exaggerating. Don't get me wrong I wasn't expecting any type of luxury from a Motel 6, but I had heard that the Studio 6 locations offered much more comfortable accommodations. Well that may be true for some locations, but definitely not the case for this place! The room I received was filthy. Hand prints on the shower wall, filthy windows, filthy floors, filthy walls, broken/cracked electrical socket plates (on the sockets that had a plate), stained bedding with cigarette burns on the comforter and the ottoman, dated dirty AC unit that did not cool the room, stiff mattress, dirty misshapen pillows, rough chlorine smelling linens that made any exposed skin itch upon contact and the safe positioned on top of a what appeared to be a speaker. That's not to mention the pungent odor of stale cigarettes that hit me like a ton of bricks as soon as I opened the door-- I'm extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke. Those are just the tip of the iceberg for this seedy motel. The room looked like a shadow of the "updated" rooms they have pictured on their website and they obviously had not given it a proper cleaning in quite some time. It appeared as if they just made the bed and called it day. Needless to say I didn't sleep at all due to extreme discomfort and I ended up booking a room at another hotel for the duration of my stay.
Pros-- they gave me a refund for the remainder for my stay seeing as I had only spent one night at their establishment. The owners didn't give me too much trouble when I asked for a refund, other than to make excuses for the rank cigarette odor (when I checked in the owner made it very clear this was a nonsmoking facility, I guess the joke was on me for believing him) and to lightly lecture that I should have asked for another room instead of making a different reservation at a different hotel. The owner even had the audacity to ask me which hotel I had made a new reservation with--long story short the extra star is solely based on the fact that I got my money back.
Cons-- the area, the state of the room, the lack of toiletries, the loitering "guests"-- basically everything else.
Do yourself a favor and shell out the extra few hundred bucks for a SpringHills Suite. They have a kitchenette as well (minus the hot plate/ stove top) and the quality of the rooms are heaven compared to this nightmare-- if anything the peace of mind is worth the extra money. I live and learn and one thing is for sure I won't try to save a few extra bucks by staying at any Studio 6 ever again.
