After a 10-mile bike ride to work I stopped by Tim Finnegan's last night to grab a bite to eat - I'd been here before with some friends to sample the appetizers at happy hour, and was intrigued by their selection of food featuring interesting twists you wouldn't expect, like corned beef & cabbage taquitos! Whoa!! I knew this place would have something to satisfy. After working up quite an appetite, I ordered the Irish breakfast - sausages, white and black pudding, toast, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, beans. WOW! It came on a huge square plate, covering the entire thing. Looks like a lot of food, but was just the right amount. The 'over-easy' eggs were cooked PERFECTLY - not your usual runny-and-barely-done mess, but exactly how I like them. I try ordering over-medium at other places but it always comes out runny. I'm really particular about my eggs, and it's relieving when you get someone that knows how to cook them right. The toast was hefty and tasty, bacon and sausage delicious. I swore off black pudding after trying it once at the Dubliner but figured I'd give it a try again - completely converted!! I know this is weird, but it reminded me a tiny bit of mincemeat pie - savory and spicy. The white pudding was great, too. Service was great, from previous descriptions I may have had Tom (?) - we sat at the bar and he was fast and direct. Even the cook came out to ask us how our food was! I had a great time. Like I posted on my Facebook page, "I think that's the closest thing to a holy experience I've had with food for a while!" :D
