On a day when the mall closed at 6:00 pm, I walked in the door at 5:30 pm. I was met with a scowling voice from behind the counter, "You've 15 minutes to look!". Surprised, I asked, "Aren't you open until 6?" "Yes," he replied, "but you've only got 15 minutes to look." I told him I'd rather go to another shop that was open during the hours it posts and that I hoped he'd enjoy his one-star review.
I've been to this mall many times before, so I don't need hours to go through it. I could have easily breezed through the booths and maybe have found something to buy that day, but the grouchy owner killed that potential sale. Apparently when the owners display a sign that says they close at 6 pm, they mean the till has been closed up, the lights turned off, their coats put on and they are locking the door and heading to their cars at 6 pm. Just be aware of their interpretation and plan accordingly.
