Our most recent dining experience at Mastros was 3/29/15. We were a party of 4. We were seated promptly upon arrival under "the cage". That is an open covering cavelike to soften the views of the Mall as it is located in the Crystal Mall in City Center. Crazy. Most of us ordered steaks and Calamari for an appetizer. The appetizer took FOREVER to appear! Ok, forgiven because it was excellent. Moving on. The steaks, for the most part, were fine except for one which needed less raw. Yes, I said raw! All side dishes are a la carte, so sharing is a must. The dinners are served on near bare plates with no presentation at all, so whatever.
All in all, not bad, but for the price a little bit more effort is in order. I will say our server did her best to cover up the mis-steps and I appreciate that effort. Unfortunately, she should not have to.
