When I was growing up in the 50's I remember going to O'Neils in Akron. On the first floor were two stands, one I think sold hot dogs, the other one had the best frozen custard I've ever eaten. Ever since they closed down that stand many years ago, I hunted in vain for frozen custard that resembled that flavor. Most of the stands serve only soft serve ice cream which they sometimes call frozen custard. A few years ago Stricklands opened up a place on Bailey rd. HOT DOG!!!! The Frozen custard of my youth remains today! This place is absolutely the best in the area! I rarely go beyond vanilla but have been told by family that I should branch out, but when I have a chance to relive my youth with vanilla frozen custard, I'm not about to change.
