Walked in with a group of friends to get some ice cream. Bought one of those coupon cards near my work and cold stone was on the card: "free like it with the purchase of a love it." When we walked in there were no employees in sight and the "open" sign was hidden behind one f their advertisements. Eventually a young man came out from the back and a woman came out from the bathroom. I never saw her wash her hands, but admittedly I wasn't paying too close attention. Ordered my ice cream and a friend's per the coupon's parameters. They made the ice cream and when we checked out I was informed that my card wouldn't be accepted because they could have no record or the coupon's use. I showed them the expiration date, the cold stone logo, and the coupon code but they refused. I told them that I didn't want the ice cream unless the coupon was honored and the employees threw it away without an apology. I was so frustrated that I had to tell others. Won't be returning to cold stone and will be calling the manager to request that they post explicitly that they honor no coupons associated with cold stone creamery.
