So I planned an overnight stay in Toronto and a drive to Owen Sound, Ontario for Sunday, May 29, 2016 and Monday, May 30, 2016. My Delta Airlines flight from Salt Lake City was almost 20 minutes late and so I called the store while we were taxiing to the rampway to let them know I had landed and to confirm that they closed at 4pm (This was about 330pm). I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Edward who said that they did close, but that they would wait for me. I told him that I was not sure how long customs would take (since all the reviews and information I could find seemed to imply that it would be hours, and that the automated system was just for those persons who had already traveled to Canada before), but I would call afterwards. I was deplaned, had all my luggage (carry on only) and had cleared customs in about 20 minutes. I called again to let them know I was getting into a cab (that is a separate topic that Toronto Pearson International needs to address by the way) and that I was on the way. When I arrived, they actually cut me a break on an upgrade (went from a Chrysler 200 to a Chevrolet Traverse for only $5 CAD more per day) and helped get me out the door fast. I have a new appreciation for how polite Canadian people are, and realize that even though it is an old joke, it is really true. Canadians are the nicest people. :)
