We met here on a Friday night to connect with friends. I am so glad that we were seated in the back room away from the main dining room as the DJ began a set at 6pm and the music was very loud and would have made conversation nearly impossible. I want to try this place during lunch when the music isn't deafening so that I can truly experience the atmosphere of dining in the old sanctuary. Perhaps management should consider having the DJ after 9pm.
After reading all of the reviews, I was worried that I was going to have bland tacos and dry street corn, but I experienced exactly the opposite. The tacos were yummy and very generous in their fillings and the street corn was fresh and delicious. I had the cherry steak with cojita (not a fan of bleu cheese) and the peking duck taco. The duck taco was a great combination of spicy and sweet and was my favorite. We also ordered the house guacamole. It was lacking salt and lime, but was okay with tortilla chips.
Complimentary valet is the only option for parking, so we chose to park in the neighborhood and had no issue nor safety concerns. We will be back, but will try it during lunchtime instead.
